What do all you moms out there think? Ryan keeps saying to me, "Lets go on a vacation this summer just me and you." I keep telling him no. I feel like I am being selfish by leaving my children. I am a mother now and its not about what I want anymore. How can I leave a 5-month-old nursing baby? So what do you think? Am I being selfish by leaving my 2 children for a week? Can I leave a nursing baby? Any advice?
Ahhhhh, I don't know what to do!
You can do it Tab! Talk to Brit. They just went to Hawaii, just the two of them and they had a blast!! DO IT!
ReplyDeleteWe will be gone for 6 days, I already miss Radley, and we haven't even left yet. LOL I too am worried but I think it will be good. Radley is going to go to both grandmas and my sister's so he will have lots of fun. I think Parker and Carsen would have fun with their grandma. Maybe you could do like 4 or 5 days? I have a friend who left a nursing baby and she just pumped while on vacation. I think it is definitely do-able! You deserve a lil' break.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of starting an online medical transcriptionist class. Any suggestions? Was yours online?
For digital scrapbooking, I use Picasa (if you don't already have it, it is a free program you can download). I print them as 12x12 100 page books from winkflash.com. They go on sale for $30 a book every few months. I would love to show you the books- Radley already has 5. :) I know what you mean.. the old way is fun, but takes a while. Switching has saved us a lot of money too. LOL
Sorry so long...
That isn't selfish at all!! We had a lesson in church a few weeks ago about putting your marriage before your kids sometimes and there were lots of talks that said that. Going all the time is one thing, but I think it's really healthy to have a getaway with your spouse and be a couple again. I think you should go!!!
ReplyDeleteDo it! It's NOT selfish at all. I always have to remind myself that a happy mom makes for happier kids - and you'll feel much better once you get a little break I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a mommy yet, but I think you should definitely do it, even if it's just somewhere for a long weekend-
ReplyDeleteI say DO IT too! I left Connor at 5 or 6 months while Devin and I went on a cruise. I just pumped so he had food. I did miss him, but it was a much needed vacation!! I can't believe your little guy is 5 months!
ReplyDeleteOh Tab, you're better than me! You definitely should go! Its so important that you get some needed alone time with Ryan AND for yourself. I always feel like such a better mom when I get any little break. But, I know how you feel...its hard to leave the little ones, especially for a week. We left Ella for 8 days when she was 1 1/2, and I thought I was going to throw up when we left, but it ended up being one of the best vacations. I say go for it...we'll help watch your kids if you need it!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with everyone else. You should go. It's important that you and your husband have alone time and get away every once in awhile. It's healthy for your marriage. And it's not selfish at all. I'm sure it'll be hard to leave your two boys, but I'm sure you'll enjoy just being with your hubby too.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to deal with the nursing part, but I think it is important for a husband and wife to have their alone time. Ben and I go on at least one mini vacation a year. It is always nice to reconnect and realize that there is still that spark.
